The first track of the EP, titled "Fais de Beaux Rêves", was written a few years ago when I was composing film library music. At the time, I envisioned a dreamy French countryside with a peaceful atmosphere. However, as I was writing, this soon became linked to the idea of hoping and dreaming, with the repeated motif symbolising the desire to reach your dreams. Fast forward two years and I was recording my debut EP, thinking, "I'd really like to have an instrumental track to introduce the EP". This composition came straight to my mind and I felt it was the perfect way to introduce and tie together themes of mental health, dreams, light and darkness, and the passing of time which are explored throughout the EP.
The title "Fais de Beaux Rêves" is a French saying, which translated to English means: "Sweet Dreams".
